Southwood Resort is located only five minutes south of Grand Rapids on the Wendigo arm of Lake Pokegama When heading south from Grand Rapids, turn left on Southwood   Road just after crossing the Pokegama Lake bridge.. We are a half mile east on the left. We are centrally located in northern Minnesota, making it easy to take day trips to Walker, Duluth, Bemidji, or Brainerd. If you wish to try your luck fishing other lakes in the area, you will find it hard to choose, as there are over 1000 lakes in the Grand Rapids area. But you won't have to look far for great fishing, just out your door and down to the beach you'll find 6612 acres of fantastic fishing.
